I am lost
so utterly lost
in these feelings
I can feel you
like a deep spark
so far inside
that it hurts to breath sometimes
It is scary
this deep kernel
sometimes I push it aside
tell myself that it just isn't true
yet at night
when slumber comes
deep and unbidden
you are the last thing I think of
It's funny how you have become
like second nature to me
and all I want is to feel you

I pull a towel out of the wardrobe and make my way into the lavatory. I’ve charmed the mirror above the sink not to talk, so the reflection of me just mouths silent words as I reach into the bath and twist on the hot-water faucet.
